Elon Musk says content creators can now make money on Twitter

Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, declared that once the platform starts sharing ad income, content providers will be able to make money from it.

Now that YouTube, TikTok, and other social media sites share ad money with content creators, Twitter may face competition from them.

The newly announced revenue-sharing mechanism, according to the Twitter CEO, is, however, only accessible to Twitter Blue Verified content providers. This means that a Twitter content creator must pay the $8 monthly subscription cost in order to take use of this arrangement.

Twitter has not yet disclosed the ad income sharing formula, despite Musk’s claim that it started on Friday, February 3, 2023.merlin_215715867_25380ca6-9073-4b75-b75f-6bde5a1a40f2-superjumbo-3526033

Musk tweeted on Friday to share the development:

  • “Starting today, Twitter will share ad revenue with creators for ads that appear in their reply threads. To be eligible, the account must be a subscriber to Twitter Blue Verified.”

In response to comments made by his followers over the new development, Musk emphasized the new direction for the microblogging site by saying, “Twitter has to be where a creator is most richly rewarded for their time and ability.”
