Emma Margaret Marie Tachard-Mackey, the daughter of a French father and an English mother, was born on January 4, 1996, in Le Mans, France. Her father is the principal of a school.
Emma Mackey grew up in the town of Sablé-sur-Sarthe. In 2013, she graduated from l’académie de Nantes with a baccalauréat with honors. Emma later moved to England and studied English language and literature at the University of Leeds, graduating in 2016.
Emma Mackey is a dual citizen of France and the United Kingdom. She gained to attention on the big screen with her outstanding performance as Maeve Wiley in the Netflix comedy-drama Sex Education. In 2021, she was nominated for a BAFTA Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for her performance.

Emma Mackey also played Jacqueline de Bellefort in Kenneth Branagh’s 2022 mystery thriller Death on the Nile (the sequel to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express). In March 2022, she was cast in the LuckyChap Entertainment film Barbie.
Despite numerous rumors that Emma Mackey is quitting Netflix’s comedy-drama Sex Education, nothing has been verified as of yet. The ending of season 3 left it unclear whether or not her character Maeve Wiley will return in Sex Education 4.
