Who Was In The Car With Randy Savage?

Randy Savage’s wife, Barbara Lynn Payne, was in the car with him on the morning of May 20, 2011, when the accident occurred.

Savage went incapacitated after suffering a heart attack while driving with his wife in Seminole, Florida, and lost control of his Jeep Wrangler, smashing into a tree.

Savage’s death was first reported as being caused by the collision, when in fact he and his wife were both wearing seatbelts and suffered only minor physical injuries.

He had an enlarged heart and severe coronary artery disease, according to an autopsy performed by the medical examiner’s office (more than 90 percent narrowed).

A prescription medication and a tiny amount of alcohol were discovered in his system.

Savage had never been treated for heart problems, and there was no evidence that he even knew he had one.

The official cause of death was determined to be atherosclerotic heart disease.

Savage was cremated, and his ashes were scattered near his mother’s development on his property in Largo, Florida.
