Tarsame Singh Saini, better known as Taz Stereo Nation and Johnny Zee, was an Indian-born British singer, songwriter, and actor.
Taz Stereo was the lead singer of the pop band Stereo Nation, which was founded in 1996 and is widely regarded as the pioneer of cross-cultural Asian fusion music.
Taz Stereo originally charted in 1989 with the album “Hit the Deck,” which spent 36 weeks at the top of the UK Asian pop chart.
Taz Steros has achieved gold platinum and multi-platinum discs for all but two of his albums, and his most successful album to date is Slave II Fusion, published in 2000, which includes several of his most well-known hit songs, including:
Taz Stereo took home the award for “Best International Artist” at the UK Asian Music Awards in 2005.
Taz Stereo made his cinematic debut in 2007 with Don’t Stop Dreaming, for which he also wrote the soundtrack and sang playback.
Taz Stereo reappeared in 2008 with his new album Jawani on the Rocks, which included the smash singles “Meri Nazron Mein Tu Hain” and “Hai Hai Jawani.”
Twist & Shout, Taz Stereo’s debut album, was a commercial success in 2010.
The 2020 single “Galan Goriyan,” which is a remake of the 2000 popular song and features Dhvani Bhanushali, has gathered over 10 million views on YouTube.
Taz Stereo passed away on April 29, 2022, at the age of 54.
Taz Stereo was in a coma at the hospital after suffering from liver failure.
