Mercy Johnson shares her biggest fear about her kids
Mercy Johnson, a Nigerian actress and mother of four, has shared her main concern for her children.
The mother of four started talking to Shaffy Bello, a guest on Mercy Johnson’s Mercy’s Menu show, during the most recent episode.
The two women’s talk veered from motherhood to acting. Shaffy Bello spoke candidly about how difficult it was to leave her kids behind to relocate to Nigeria and seek an acting career in Nollywood during the conversations.
Mercy Johnson shared her greatest worry concerning her children in response to her realization.
Mercy Johnson said;
“Hmm. I came across this quote online, so let’s start there. It meant something when the quotation remarked, “Overprotective moms are like girls who grew up without being protected.”
Therefore, one of my greatest worries is that my children will experience what I did. That impression of directionlessness and emptiness. So, as I constantly say, they are prioritized above anything else in my life, much like a scale of preferences.
“Because I through a lot of suffering as a child, and I recall crying without anyone helping me wipe my eyes. I am familiar with hunger, so I can define it. Because I understand what abuse is, I don’t want any child—not even the one who is descended from me—to experience it. They often remark, “Oh Mercy, you are so amazing awesome awesome,” but the truth is that I am basically overly protective of my children because of my past.
