Madeleine Albright Husband: Was Madeleine Albright Still Married?

Madeleine Albright Husband – In 1959, Madeleine Albright married Joseph Medill Patterson Albright.

Before divorcing in 1982, the couple had three daughters.

Joseph Medill Patterson Albright was a newspaper publisher and businessman from the United States.

He was born to Jay Frederick Reeve (1893–1956), a lawyer, and his wife, née Josephine Medill Patterson (1913–1996), a reporter and aviation pilot, as Joseph Medill Patterson Reeve.

In 1944, his parents split, and his mother married Ivan Le Lorraine Albright, a painter, in 1946. Their mother’s second husband adopted Joseph and his sister Alice, and their surname became “Albright.”

Adam and Blandina (often known as “Dina”) were the offspring of this second marriage.

Albright is the scion of a media dynasty, the grandson and namesake of Joseph Medill Patterson, the founder of the New York Daily News in the 1930s, who competed with William Randolph Hearst.

Joseph Medill, his great-great grandfather, owned the Chicago Tribune and had been elected mayor of the city. Newsday was founded by his aunt, Alicia Patterson.

Albright was a Williams College student. When Madeleine Jana Korbel (later Madeline Albright) worked at the Denver Post for a summer, he met her.

Following Madeleine’s graduation from Wellesley College in 1959, they married. They have three daughters: Anne and Alice (born 1961), twin girls, and Katie, the youngest.

Albright later married Marcia Kunstel after the couple split in 1982. They own Flat Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, together.
