Larry Lacewell Obituary – Larry Lacewell was a footballer, coach, and college athletics administrator from England. From 1979 through 1989, he was the head coach at Arkansas State University, where he went 69-58-4.
Lacewell was born in the Arkansas town of Fordyce. He went to Fordyce High School and played halfback there. Arkansas A&M College offered him a football scholarship, which he accepted.

Under Johnny Majors, he became the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Volunteers in 1990. By winning the SEC Championship and defeating the University of Virginia in the Sugar Bowl, he made a significant contribution to the program.
Larry Lacewell died at the age of 85 on May 18, 2022. He died of natural causes, according to reports, but the reason of death is still unknown.
Larry’s family has yet to make a statement on the circumstances surrounding his death. Larry and his wife, Criss, lived in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
