Katastro Andy Chaves Car Accident
Andy Chaves of the Tempe-based modern rockers was murdered in a car accident with two other people early Thursday morning on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach, California. Chaves died when he was 32 years old.
“We are heartbroken to have to reveal the loss of our brother and vocalist Andy Chaves,” his bandmates wrote on Instagram. Please respect the privacy of Andy’s family and the band members while we all process this. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and support.”

Around 12:45 a.m., the car carrying three people traveling on the PCH hit a curb and collided with roadwork construction equipment, according to the Newport Beach Police Department. The three passengers died on impact.
According to news reports, the other two passengers were Crystal McCallum, 34, and Wayne Walter Swanson Jr., 40. According to news reports, three road workers who were close when the accident occurred were also sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
