Kano DPO who rejected $200,000 bribe in robbery case rewarded by IGP
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has honoured SP Daniel Itse Amah, Nasarawa Divisional Police Officer, for rejecting the sum of $200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Dollars).
Amah was presented a certificate of Award after he rejected a mouth watering bribe in a case of alleged armed robbery.
The Kano police officer was hailed by the IGP for exhibiting sound professionalism leading to the arrest of a Kano-based legal practitioner known as Ali Zaki, and some police officers, who are suspected accomplices.
The IGP’s commendation to SP Daniel was contained in a letter released to the press on Monday, August 15, 2022.
It was gathered that the DPO led security agents on an operation in Kano which resulted in the arrest of the suspected armed robbery syndicate.
The case was consequently transferred to the Force Headquarters in the Federal Capital Territory on the directive of the Inspector-general for discreet investigation.
Confirming the development, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said, “The lawyer and other suspects involved in the case have a case to answer, and we are still on with the matter.”
