Josephine Tewson Cause of Death

In the age of 91, Josephine Tewson passed away on August 18, 2022 at Denville Hall, a London retirement home for actresses. She had roles in sitcoms like Keeping Up Appearances and Last of the Summer Wine.

Her representative Jean Diamond issued the following statement: “It is with deep grief that we announce the demise of Josephine Tewson.

At the age of 91, Josephine passed away quietly yesterday night at Denville Hall. There was no mention of the reason of death.

Tewson played a nanny in a 1997 30-second Fruit Newtons commercial for Nabisco that aired throughout the US.
She additionally played a teacher in a Sugar Puffs “I Want My Honey” commercial that ran in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Tewson is most known for playing Elizabeth in the 1990–1995 television series Keeping Up Appearances, who is Hyacinth Bucket’s anxious next-door neighbor.

She also appeared in Shelley, starring Hywel Bennett, and No Appointment Necessary, starring Roy Kinnear. Additionally, she worked with Dick Emery, Charlie Drake, and Ronnie Barker.
