“He continues to carry great thoughts of ill will against me,” Baskin told the judge, who was also present with her husband, Howard Baskin.

Despite Joe’s imprisonment, Baskin claims she has received “vile, nasty, and threatening letters” over the last two years.

She informed the judge that now that Joe has a broader circle of supporters, she believes he poses an even greater threat to her.

Joe’s lawyers told the judge that their client has stage one prostate cancer and a disorder that has weakened his immune system, rendering him particularly sensitive to COVID-19.

Joe had stated that he intended to postpone treatment until his resentencing. According to federal officials, he would require up to eight weeks of radiation treatment and will be unable to travel during that time.

Joe received a disciplinary write-up in September for being in possession of a contraband smartphone and unlicensed headphones, which was not included in his pre-sentencing report, according to prosecutors.

During a recorded December 2017 meeting, prosecutors said Joe offered $10,000 to an undercover FBI agent to assassinate Baskin.

“Just like follow her into a mall parking lot and just cap her and drive off,” he tells the agent on the video.

Joe was convicted of killing five tigers, selling tiger pups, and falsifying wildlife records while working as a Zoo keeper. He maintains his innocence. Joe Has Been Sentenced To Prison
