Jim Hilyer Cause Of Death, Jim Hilyer was an American football coach.

Jim Hilyer was the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s first head football coach, serving from 1991 to 1994 and earning a 27–12–2 record.

Jim Hilyer was a four-year letterwinner at offensive guard and linebacker for Stetson University in collegiate football.

Jim Hilyer began his coaching career at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida (1957–1963), where he coached football and track while simultaneously playing for the Continental Football League’s Orlando Thunderbirds from 1958 to 1960.

The father of the UAB football program is Dr. Jim Hilyer.

Hilyer, the inaugural head coach of the University of Alabama football program and a former faculty member at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the age of 86.

The cause of Jim Hilyer’s death has not been revealed.
