Margaret Corden and Malcolm Corden raised their son James Kimberley Corden OBE in Hillingdon, England, on August 22, 1978. Ruth Corden and Andrea Henry Corden were his two younger siblings.

His father was a musician in the Royal Air Force band and a Christian book seller, while his mother worked as a social worker. Park Middle School and Holmer Green Upper School were his schools of choice. From 2000 until 2005, he starred as Jamie Rymer in the British television series Fat Friends, for which he received a nomination for the 2000 Royal Television Society Award Best Network Newcomer On Screen.

For co-starring in Gavin & Stacey from 2007 to 2010, James Corden won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Comedy Performance. He’s hosted the Brit Awards, the Tony Awards (2016, 2019), the Grammy Awards (2017, 2018), and Sky One’s A League of Their Own.

Gulliver’s Travels (2010), Into the Woods (2014), Kill Your Friends (2015), Peter Rabbit (2018) and its 2021 sequel, Cats (2019), and The Prom (2020) all include James Corden. He has received 22 Primetime Emmy nominations and has won nine of them, notably for The Late Late Show, Carpool Karaoke, and hosting the 70th Tony Awards.
