The latter played baseball, ice hockey, and football in high school, following in his father’s footsteps. Before moving to South Carolina in his latter years, the family lived in Pittsburgh’s North Side.
When the Steelers won Super Bowl XIII and Super Bowl XIV, Deloplaine received two Super Bowl rings. He was only able to play in three games in the previous playoff series, and he failed to record stats in either final game.
After NFL organizations wrongly believed Deloplaine had retired, he signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in early June 1980.
