Carlin has suffered from cardiac difficulties for three decades. Heart attacks occurred in 1978, 1982, and 1991, as well as an arrhythmia that necessitated an ablation operation in 2003, a substantial bout of heart failure in late 2005, and two angioplasties.
He died a week after his last performance at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
