Edouard Mendy undergoes surgery after breaking finger
After Chelsea’s goalkeeper Edouard Mendy broke his finger during practice, the team was dealt another serious setback.
The Senegalese goalkeeper has already had surgery for the fractured finger, the club tweeted after making the announcement.
This comes after the club lost Raheem Sterling, Reece James, and Christian Pulisic to injuries.
The statement read;
“Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy underwent surgery for a fractured finger he sustained this week while training. Throughout his recovery, the 30-year-old will collaborate closely with the club’s medical staff.

Only 11 of Chelsea’s games this season have seen Mendy play, and he has only recorded one clean sheet. In addition, he only started two Premier League games out of the team’s previous 11 games since Kepa Arrizabalaga was Graham Potter’s first-choice goalie.
