Davie Wilson Passed Away – After a lengthy struggle with dementia, Davie Wilson, a former Scottish footballer who played for the Rangers, died on June 14, 2022.
Wilson passed away at the age of 85.
The Rangers released a statement announcing the legend’s passing.
Between 1956 and 1967, Wilson won the main awards 11 times. In the same time frame, he earned 22 Scotland caps and scored 10 goals.
Wilson was a left winger who helped his team reach the European Cup semi-finals in 1960 and the Cup Winners’ Cup final in 1961.
Wilson made 373 appearances for Ibrox over 11 seasons, scoring 158 goals.
Later, he managed the Sons and Queen of the South while still playing for Dundee United and Dumbarton.

He won four league crowns, five Scottish Cups, and two League Cups during his career.
Wilson was inducted into the Rangers, Dundee United, and Scotland Halls of Fame before his death.
