In 2021, the weekend races were postponed owing to severe weather. Looking at the weather forecast for the next several days in April 2022, it appears that the situation will be similar. The sessions on Friday went over without a hitch, but the risk of rain on Saturday has increased significantly.

The organizers were hoping for merely a passing thunderstorm on Sunday. However, NASCAR Cup Series drivers struggled to compete on the dirt circuit at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 17th night.

Rain threatened to call the Food City Dirt Race off early on Sunday. The race, however, does not appear to have been canceled.
