Appeal Court dismisses suit seeking Peter Obi’s disqualification

Appeal Court dismisses suit – A lawsuit filed by the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, to disqualify Peter Obi, the candidate for president of the Labour Party, LP, was denied by the Abuja Appeal Court.

The appeal was rejected by the sitting judge, Justice Monica Dongban Mensan, on the grounds that it lacked substance and that APM lacked the legal authority to file the lawsuit.

Additionally, the court granted an amount of N200,000 against APM in favor of the LP and Peter Obi, the second and third respondents.

Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are two of the front-runners in the contest with Obi.
