Symonds’ death came at a time when Australian cricket was still mourning the loss of all-time greats Rod Marsh and Shane Warne, both of whom died in March.

“Emergency responders attempted to revive the 46-year-old driver and sole occupant, but he died of his injuries,” the police said in a statement.
