She moved to Silicon Valley when she worked for Adobe Systems on Charleston Road in Santa Clara County.
Laurie was murdered in 1992, after leaving work for the day at Adobe Systems on Charleston Road in Santa Clara County, California. Her body was discovered about 2 miles away in her car by a passerby on September 5, 1992.
In both 1995 and 1996, a man named John Woodward was unsuccessfully prosecuted for Laurie’s murder.
In 2022, due to advanced DNA processing, new evidence at the crime scene pointed again to the same man. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and the Mountain View Police Department both pursued the charges once more.
John Kevin Woodward, the president and CEO of Readytech, was arrested at John F Kennedy airport in New York upon his arrival from a business trip in Amsterdam, where his company, Readytech is based.
