Sarah Jane Millican Millican was born in South Shields, England, to Philip D. King and Valerie Prince on May 29, 1975. Her father worked as a mining electrician, and she grew up with her younger sister Victoria King.

Mortimer Comprehensive School, which is now Mortimer Community College, was where Sarah Millican went to school. She worked at an employment center as a civil servant until she was 29 years old. Following her inaugural Edinburgh Festival Fringe production Sarah Millican’s Not Nice, she won the if comedy award for Best Newcomer in 2008.

Sarah Millican has been on the shows 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You, You’ve Been Watching, Would I Lie to You? , QI, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Channel 4’s crossover game show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, David Mitchell’s panel show The Bubble, and Frank Skinner’s Opinionated in March 2010.

Sarah Millican’s debut book, How to Be Champion, was released in 2017. In February 2013, Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour named her one of the 100 most powerful women in the United Kingdom.
