Are Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin friends?
Denny Hamlin, a three-time Daytona 500 champion, has been friends with NBA legend Michael Jordan Michael for decades. Jordan and Denny Hamlin met at a Charlotte Bobcats game in 2009, and their friendship has blossomed since then.
Despite their disparate backgrounds, the NASCAR Cup Series driver and the former Chicago Bulls player quickly “become close friends.”
Hamlin was the first NASCAR driver to join the Jordan Brand in 2011, and their connection grew from there. During an appearance on ESPN, Hamlin mentioned how close they are.

He’s a terrific friend, first and foremost. “He’s first and foremost a buddy,” Hamlin said, adding that Jordan is one of the most supportive people he’s ever met. Even if Hamlin doesn’t win, he always has the best advice for his pal. ‘Keep digging,’ he advises, ‘these roadblocks will come up.’
Jordan and Hamlin have been friends for a long time and share a love of basketball. They formed their own NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, as a result of their friendship.
