Are any of the von Trapp family still alive?

von Trapp family – The Trapp Family was a singing ensemble created by the family of Georg von Trapp, a former Austrian naval commander. During the interwar period, the family rose to prominence in their native Austria as singers.

When Hitler took power in Austria in 1938, the von Trapps decided to conserve their spiritual treasure rather than their material wealth and moved to the United States from their huge estate outside of Salzburg.

Only two of Georg and Maria‘s three children, Johannes and Rosmarie, are still alive as of October 2021, after all of the original seven Trapp children had perished by 2014. On October 17, 2021, Eleonore “Lorli” von Trapp Campbell died.

The Trapp Family Lodge near Stowe, Vermont, is owned and operated by Johannes von Trapp, 76, the eldest son of Maria and Baron Georg Johannes von Trapp.

The family has owned the land since 1942, when they purchased a 300-acre mountain farm.
