#JusticeForSylvester: Nigerian Women Stage Protest In Front Of Dowen College (Photos)
JusticeForSylvester – Worried Nigerian women on Wednesday morning, December 8th, stormed Dowen college in Lagos, demanding justice for the late Sylvester Oromoni.
It is worth recalling that Sylvester Oromoni, who until his death was a student of the school, died after he was allegedly tortured and beaten by his schoolmates for refusing to join a cult.
Although investigations have started and the Lagos State government has promised to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Yesterday, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu announced that three students of Dowen College in Lagos are currently assisting the police in their investigation into the death of Sylvester Oromoni, Jr.
According to him, three of the five students that Sylvester named before his death are currently in custody and are cooperating with the police in their investigations.
Just this morning, aggrieved women dressed in black staged a protest in front of the sealed premises of Dowen College, demanding justice for the young boy.

This comes after Dowen College Parents’ Forum had responded to the tragic death of a 12-year-old student of the school, Sylvester Oromoni.
The forum in a statement signed by Aituaz Kola-Oladejo, Waheed Adeoye, Oluwaseun Bolanle Ajila, and Kingsley Kema Agu and released on Tuesday, December 7th, commiserate with the family of the deceased and expressed their deep sorrow over the unfortunate incident that led to the death of the minor.
The parents said they would work more closely with the school (management/board) to ensure that the necessary measures are taken to prevent the unfortunate incident from happening again.
“Dowen College Parents are startled and deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident that led to the death of Sylvester Oromoni. Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased and pray that God gives them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
As parents of Dowen college students, we are still in shock and could not come to terms with this incident and the accounts so far provided by the school,students, and the media.
