Pete Arredondo Uvalde Texas: Who is the Uvalde police chief who delayed officer response to shooting?

Pete Arredondo Uvalde Texas – Peter Arredondo is said to have decided not to send officers into Robb Elementary School right away to confront a gunman who had attacked the school. His failure to send in reinforcements resulted in numerous casualties that may have been avoided.

Arredondo has worked in law enforcement for nearly three decades and was just elected to the Uvalde municipal council. In 2020, the school district’s board of trustees nominated Arredondo to manage the department.

Arredondo has served in various positions as a captain for a school district police force in Laredo, Texas, and the Uvalde Police Department.

Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas said on Friday, May 27 that he wants a full explanation of what transpired at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde during the shooting, but that he has no say in whether the school district’s police chief should be fired.

“As far as his work status is concerned, I have no control over it and am unaware of it,” Abbott continued. “All of those officials’ activities will be known to the public, recognized, and explained.”

Since two brief press statements on the day of the tragedy, Arredondo has not made any public statements about the occurrence.
