Christine Lee Silawan Case – Christine Lee Silawan, a 16-year-old church collector and high school student, was brutally killed.

Silwan was discovered dead in a deserted lot in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, and her body was recovered beyond recognition, with half of her face skinned to the skull and many stab wounds on her body.

Silawan was also raped and was naked from the waist down.

Christine Lee Silawan, a 16-year-old student, was murdered after her unnamed boyfriend allegedly established a phony Facebook account to entice her to meet him.

The suspect pretended to be another man on Facebook in an attempt to “court” her, according to investigators.

Silawan was discovered dead in an empty lot in Lapu-Lapu City on March 11, 2019, with multiple stab wounds and her face damaged.

Her tongue, trachea, esophagus, sections of her neck, and her right ear were also missing, according to an autopsy.

On March 16, 2019, the murder suspect, identified as ‘John,’ was apprehended at his residence in Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, based on a Facebook Messenger discussion.

Silawan’s ex-boyfriend, known only as John, could face charges in court, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Silawan was also murdered on March 10, 2019, between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m., according to forensic evidence.

Silawan was last seen strolling with a male in the early evening on March 10th, according to CCTV evidence.

Silawan’s heinous murder sparked outrage and political debate over the death penalty’s restoration as a punishment for heinous crimes.

On April 2, 2019, a forensic team from the Public Attorney’s Office confirmed that Silawan had been raped.

The investigators detected blood in her genitals, as well as evidence that acid was poured on Silawan’s face before being pulled off.

Silawan was strangled to death with a rope, and the forensic team thought that at least three persons were involved in his death.
