Thora Birch Young
Birch was born in Los Angeles to former pornographic film actors, Jack Birch and Carol Connors, who both appeared in the film “Deep Throat.” She has a mixed ethnicity, including German-Jewish, Scandinavian, French-Canadian, and Italian heritage. Her first name “Birch” was derived from the Norse god of thunder and lightning, “Thor,” which was originally intended to be her name if she had been born a boy.
Birch has a younger brother named Bolt Birch. Due to their own experiences in the entertainment industry, her parents were initially hesitant to encourage her to pursue acting. However, a babysitter who noticed Birch’s talent for imitating commercials convinced them to show her photograph to agents.
