This means the respected lawyer proposed to her several years ago and she didn’t love him as at that time but now that she is grown up she has come to the regret that love doesn’t pay the bills so she should have jumped on and married the billionaire those years ago.
A lot of water has passed under the bridge and Ned Nwoko has moved on. It will be difficult to say he has the same feelings he had several years ago for her now.
