American retired baseball pitcher Orel Leonard Hershiser IV spent 17 seasons in Major League Baseball between 1983 and 2000.
The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Hershiser in the seventeenth round of the 1979 Major League Baseball draft.
Hershiser spent 12 seasons with the Dodgers before playing for the Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, and New York Mets before making his last season in Los Angeles.
After the 2000 season, Hershiser announced his retirement, capping his career with a 204-150 record and 3.48 ERA.
