Lily, from Perth’s North Muirton, fought Ewing Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that affects bones or the tissue around them.

She arrived at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary on Friday, January 14 to begin a potential breakthrough medicine trial, but she suffered a brain bleed before physicians could begin.
Medics had warned her mother, Jane, that they weren’t sure if Lily would make it through the night, and that even if she did, they didn’t know what harm she would suffer.
“Her heart stopped beating, yet she was cuddling up to me on the sofa at home, where she wanted to be.”
