Dennis Waterman Illness: What Was Dennis Waterman’s Health Condition?
Dennis Waterman, a legendary TV actor, was afflicted with cancer and died as a result.
Waterman was a popular television actor during the 1970s and 1980s. After gaining renown as tough nut cop George Carter in The Sweeney, he played bodyguard Terry McCann in Minder.
He most recently appeared in the BBC’s New Tricks as Gerry Standing, and he has also been in ITV’s Where The Heart Is, The Canterbury Tales, and Moses Jones, all for the BBC.

Waterman was caricatured by actor David Walliams on Little Britain, and he made a surprise cameo at Comic Relief in 2006 with Walliams and co-star Matt Lucas.
‘I grew up watching Dennis Waterman’s famous performances in The Sweeney and Minder,’ Lucas tweeted today, one of several who paid tribute to the actor.
‘His appearance in our Little Britain Live concert at Hammersmith Apollo, in which he wonderfully duetted with David’s ludicrous portrayal of him, remains the absolute highlight of my career,’ says the actor.
Waterman died on May 8, 2022, at the age of 74, in a hospital in Spain.
