Cause of Death: Szilveszter Csollany Hungarian gymnast Szilveszter Csollány. With a score of 9.85, Csollány won gold in the men’s rings at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. As a result of this feat, he was named Hungarian Sportsman of the Year in 2000.
In 2002, after earning a gold medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, he was named sportsman of the year for the second time.
In 2011, Csollány relocated to Iceland and began working as a gymnastics coach at Grótta.
In November 2021, he was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 and placed on a ventilator. He died of COVID-19 on January 24, 2022, in Budapest, at the age of 51.

Csollany became ill in December and was admitted to the hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator.
While Csollany had posted multiple anti-vax messages on Facebook, he had to be vaccinated in order to work as a gymnastics instructor, according to the publication Blikk.
However, according to the journal, it was only a short time before he became ill, which prevented him from developing adequate antibodies.
