She was born in the United States on December 27, 1988, in Meridian, Mississippi.

Williams is most known for his work with the rock band Paramore, where he is the lead vocalist, primary composer, and pianist.
On January 22, 2020, she released her debut solo single, “Simmer,” and announced that her debut studio album, Petals for Armor, will be released on May 8, 2020.
Petals for Armor I and II, which make up the first two-thirds of the album, predate the release of the album.
Flowers for Vases / Descansos, her second solo album, was released less than a year later, on February 5, 2021.
