Richard Wagner CBS Wife – Donna Lewis-Wagner is the wife of CBS News correspondent Richard Wagner, who is most known for covering the Vietnam War and countless other wars across the world throughout his three-decade career.
Richard Wagner’s wife lived a low-key life, therefore nothing is known about her.
Donna Lewis-Wagner, MEd, a reading expert and coordinator of the University of Virginia’s America Reads federal work–study program, is occasionally confused with her.
Donna’s husband, who was 85 years old at the time, died on May 12, 2022.
Donna confirmed her husband’s death, saying he died at his home in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Donna provided no information on his death, including the cause.

Starting at CBS News in 1964, Donna’s husband Wagner was based for a time in Saigon, as he was among the correspondents who covered the war in Vietnam, at a time when the military had yet to establish the parameters of access to operations.
Donna’s husband also covered the following historic events;
- Troubles in Northern Ireland and the release of Nelson Mandela from prison.
- Events in Baghdad that led to Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait and then the response of the U.S. and allies, Operation Desert Storm.
- National politics and other events, including the nuclear accident at Three Mile Island and the Challenger explosion.
