Deborah Anne James DBE was born in London, United Kingdom, on October 1, 1981. Heather and Alistair James are his parents. Deborah attended Chertsey’s Salesian School.

Deborah James went on to the University of Exeter to study economics. She has worked as a deputy headteacher at Salesian School in Chertsey and at Staines-upon-Thames’ Matthew Arnold School.

Deborah James presently works for The Sun as a journalist and columnist. She is the host of the BBC Radio 5 podcast You, Me, and the Big C. In 2022, she was made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE). In October 2018, she published F*** You Cancer: How to Face the Big C, Live Your Life, and Still Be Yourself.
