Andrew Symonds was born in Birmingham, England, on June 9, 1975. Barbara and Ken Symonds, his biological parents, adopted him. Following his adoption, his family moved to Australia.

Andrew Symonds’ parents were also educators. Louise Symonds, who appeared in Gladiators, was one of his non-adopted siblings. He was born and raised in Charters Towers, Queensland.

When his family moved to the Gold Coast, Andrew Symonds attended All Souls St Gabriels School and then All Saints Anglican School in Merrimac. He played a key role in two World Cup-winning teams. He batted in the middle order as a right-handed batter.

Andrew Symonds retired from all forms of cricket on February 16, 2012, in order to devote more time to his family. He died in a single-vehicle traffic accident on May 14, 2022, in Hervey Range, Granite Vale, Australia, at the age of 46.

Andrew Symonds was adopted by his biological parents, Barbara and Ken Symonds.
