The sixth season of Africa’s most popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, will premiere this weekend after the open call auditions conclude in May 2021. The date is July 24th, 2021.
On July 24 and 25, BBNaija will premiere its sixth season with an unique double launch event.
Beginning at 7 p.m. on DStv channel 198 and GOtv channel 29, with a simulcast on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban, and Africa Magic Family, both shows will air on DStv channel 198 and GOtv channel 29.
For the first time, BBNaija fans in the United Kingdom will be able to watch the show live on Showmax, an African internet streaming service, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
At the show’s premiere on Monday, John Ugbe, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, said, “With each season of BBNaija, we challenge ourselves on providing amazing material that would take the excitement a notch higher and satisfy the entertainment demands of our customers.”
“For the sixth season, we’re going all out to provide our customers a show unlike anything they’ve ever seen from Nigeria, replete with end-to-end production best practices that conform to global health and safety standards,” says the executive producer.
Meanwhile, MultiChoice has announced that there would be no SMS voting this season. Voting will take place on the Big Brother Naija website and mobile site, as well as the MyDStv and MyGOtv applications.
The 10-week reality TV show will follow strangers as they bond and compete for the top prize of N90 million, the continent’s highest reality TV prize pool.

In March, MultiChoice Nigeria revealed that the winner of season six of the reality TV show Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) would receive N90 million as the grand prize.
This is the largest grand prize offered to a reality show winner since the inaugural season of BBNaija in 2006.
