June Preston Obituary – June Preston, a former child actress and soprano vocalist, died on May 11, 2022, in New Jersey, at the age of 93, after a long struggle with dementia.

Preston is survived by her only daughter, Sabrina Pires, and her husband, Belgian concert musician Saul Höuben.

The singer and actress’s funeral arrangements will be announced soon.

June Preston Life And Career

Preston began her acting career as a kid, playing Mrs. Blewett’s daughter in the film “Anne of Green Gables.”

She went on to star in MGM’s Have a Heart (1934) and Our Gang Follies (1938).

Preston went on to Seattle University to study music, and during that time he featured in a variety of shows, including Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore.

She sang soprano solo in the university’s 1949 rendition of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem, and afterwards became a cover performer for Kate Smith patriotic songs.

Preston performed as a singer throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe.
